About

Statement

I am a non-binary woman, born and raised in the northeastern region of Brazil, descendant of Brazilian Indigenous and European peoples. At present, I am based in the city of Curitiba, in the southern region of the country.

I take interest in interdisciplinary ventures which strive to bridge the fields of psychology, anthropology, and philosophical traditions such as phenomenology to various branches of the natural sciences and their further ramifications. This informs not only the themes that guide my work conceptually but also the media and materials that are incorporated into my practice.

I am a self-taught Artist, and my work focuses on the stories which are told through the media of embodied aliveness and what they inform of our relationship to one another and to the larger body of the Earth.

My practice sees the study, research, and application of alternative and experimental photographic and printmaking processes as a means to encourage connection and collaboration between human and more-than-human communities, investigating the potential of the arts to generate experiences which may help us realize the ways in which we are continuous with the biosphere and how its fate is ultimately our own.

I like to describe my work as an artist as a regular act of practicing reciprocity, collaboration, and open communication. It is intended as a plea for reintegration: a gentle, yet urgent invitation to return to the senses and re-join the life-giving conversations that shape and sustain the whole.
